Teen journalists mingle with media professionals during deadline competition
Arizona Latino Media Association, in partnership with the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, presented its 15th annual high school journalism multimedia workshop on March 2, 2012.
The daylong workshop was open to Arizona high school students who seek careers in the journalism and professional media fields. Workshop attendees covered “live’ stories and wrote on deadline for money prizes and a chance to win a media equipment bundle for their schools. An estimated 90 high school students from as far away as Yuma attended. Teachers also received new media training as well during the workshop.
Journalism students from the Cronkite school volunteered at the event and also covered it.
